River Cruise by Night

On Monday night, after dinner at a neighborhood Turkish restaurant, the group headed down to the banks of the Duna (the Danube), looking for Dock 7, where the Legenda was waiting to take them up and down the river, taking in the both Buda and Pest by night. Many members of the group braved the cold air and sat in the upper deck of the boat.
In the foreground is the Erzébet híd, or Elisabeth Bridge.
In the background is the Liberty Statue or Freedom Statue.
It is a monument on Gellért Hill. It commemorates those who
sacrificed their lives for the independence, freedom,
and prosperity of Hungary.
In the foreground is the Lanchíd, or Chain Bridge. It was the first
to permanently connect Buda and Pest. In the background is
Castle Hill and the Buda Vár.

The Margit Hid or Margarent Bridge not only connects Buda and Pest,
but also connects to Margit Sziget, or Margaret Island.

The crown jewel of the Danube in Budapest is Parliament.
